Last Feijoa pick of the year 2011

Hi!

Had a trip into the Paparoa Farmers Market this morning with the olds. What with being sort of a farmers dog, so to speak, the olds thought it would be a good idea if I became more of a social animal... you know the sort? Well all started out well with me straight away smelling the Bacon butties stall. yep all the oldies there got some and we dogs had to wait.
Meet a few of me mates and had a few snifts... some of them need a bath! Still we also found a few wee quackers in a big carboard box. $5 dollars each they wanted... The olds mingled with the locals and mum bought two bacon butties. Had to sit down on the seat in the park and watch them eat. Next time I'll take some money...
Got home and straight to work in blocks 3-2-1 and picked 5 buckets of Feijoas for wine. The oldies have made a bit this year... They have been trying out some new yeast strains... See what competion does to people... Dad recons he will beat mum again at the A & P Show next year.
Went down to the beach with mum and the kids... ran away into the mud.... mum is not a happy camper... dad gave me a wash down in the sea water.... dad filled up the big blue tub with water from inside and cooled it down a bit with the hose water... then he picked me up and then... I hate baths... dad washed me and gave me a "Hairy McClairy" shampoo bath... boy do i smell nice... lots of water over my face... then a quick dry down with the towel... I'm a clean boy now....
JR later got to go and run around to dry off a bit more...

Give a dog a bone

Hi!

Well am I in heaven or what?
Got a special treat the other day, that's what good dogs get you know.
A Pigs trotter all for me.
Had to eat it out side on the grass.
I chewed it into very small pieces but ensured that i left a few around for
seconds the next day.

Pigs are good.

Sleeping it off.

Learning about fish

Went fishing today.
Dad, that's him with the hairy legs, said that if I lick my lips then I will be able to taste the fish.... well he sort of is right.

Those fish things move, and anything that moves can bite. I'm not that brave, after all this is my first attempt at fishing.

Smell like fish, taste like fish, move like fish, so I suppose I'll have to admit they are. Smoke fish for tea tonight. Got to watch out for the bones!

Tree Cropper

How is it?

Went for a ride over to Whangarei today to visit David and Sophia. The northern region Tree Croppers had a workshop. David allowed me to come and visit, I behaved myself, well nearly, but that's another story.

We looked over the property and they have sheep, sheep leave things all over the paddock, and with my highly sensitive nose I located some delightful examples of.... well OK lets get dirty... Sheep pooh. Tasty.... but I had to spit it out ... Dad said with me having a bath the other day my coat smelt like Sunlight soap but my breath smelt like sheep shit! I'm wondering if he ever was a boy? Cause that's what boys do... eat stuff...

Have been really good holding on over night, when mum or dad take me out first thing, I now know how to pee on the grass...oooh that feels so good.... yep and a pooh normally follows in short time... dad reconds that I will lose my need to sniff each one as I'm out walking.. mums trying to get him to pick them up... but I recond he needs to learn to mower them first.

Have discovered that other animals live on the ranch... these all leave their calling cards... I find these, again with my great smell senses... tasty calling cards... perhaps I could....

Jaz and his new home

Jaz has a new home.
Being a smart dog he has decided that Matakohe is a real nice place, not saying that the Whangarei SPCA is not, but home is home.
Jaz rode home in the car sitting in the front seat. He was a little unsure and needed to be cuddled. We stopped at Paparoa and got an icecream, Jaz sat in the shade under a large tree at the Landing.

We finally got home and Jaz was introduced to his crate. Then the play mat and a new Spot the dog toy, Jaz has been chewing away trying to dislodge its nose.
Jaz slept right through the first night in his crate.
He is also a very good dog and is learning to pee on the grass out side, oh and he also did poohs on the grass too!

He was very interested in the good looking Jack Russell looking dog in the window. He could sit and move exactly in time with him.
Tried eating dads shoe and was told not to by him. They are no longer left on the ground!
He loves his bed, the new one Moira won in a raffle a few years ago.

Have met the cat and went for a walk up to turn the irrigation pump on this morning. The cat walked in front all the way.
Got to go now and sleep some more.
JR you later.
